Saint-Gobain Group

Saint-Gobain processes basic materials (glass, ceramics, plastics, cast iron, etc.) into today's advanced and tomorrow's high-tech products. Saint-Gobain is one of the world's top 100 leading industrial corporations, operating in 46 countries with over 173,000 employees. Saint-Gobain is listed on the Paris, London, Frankfurt, Zurich, Brussels and Amsterdam stock markets.

Saint-Gobain is organized into three main sectors where it holds a position of world leader:

housing products (building distribution, building materials, pipelines)
glass (flat glass, insulation and reinforcement, packaging)
high-performance materials (ceramics & plastics and abrasives)

Saint-Gobain spends some 300 million Euros in research and development. 3000 people work in the group's 16 research laboratories and are complemented by a large number of smaller development units that specialise in pilot projects and other activities with the main production sites. While most research centers are located in France, the Group also has several important centers in Germany, Spain, and the United States.
