FUNCTIONNAL GLAZING

Definition

Glass encapsulation is a process that obtains a plastic frame around the glass by injecting a polymer or plastic material on its rim inside a mould.

Encapsulation is one of the means to obtain ready-to-mount glazing modules. These consist of glass surrounded with profiles and include various additional components (fixing aids, brackets,…). This modular glazing is delivered directly to the assembly line ready to be mounted onto the car body.

Saint-Gobain Sekurit is the only glass-maker who masters encapsulation techniques in-house with all the different materials available on today's market. Moreover, Saint-Gobain Sekurit has the capacity to fully manage encapsulation projects from part design to mass production.
